Exercise from the chapter "Ohm's law & resistance"
Level 3 of 5 · Skills: Measure, Calculate
Wire F1 is 100 m long with a diameter of 1.6 mm, but its material is unknown. V1 and A1 measure its voltage and current.
Compute its resistance R = U / I.
Parametric exercise: the values change with every draw; these are one example.
R = U/I = 24.9 Ω; ρ = R·S/l = 24.9 × 2.01 / 100 ≈ 0.5 Ω·mm²/m: it is constantan.
