Exercise from the chapter "Ohm's law & resistance"
Level 2 of 5 · Skills: Calculate, Analyse
A 6.8 Ω potentiometer withstands a current of at most 10 A. What maximum voltage can be applied to it?
Parametric exercise: the values change with every draw; these are one example.
Umax = R × Imax = 6.8 × 10 = 68 V. At 220 V the current would be 220 / 6.8 A: to compare with the admissible 10 A.
