Exercise from the chapter "Resistor networks"
Level 3 of 5 · Skills: Calculate
A 24 V source supplies a load through a two-wire line where each wire has a resistance of 0.5 Ω. The current is 10 A. What voltage does the load receive?
U = 24 V · Rl = 0.5 Ω · I = 10 A
Parametric exercise: the values change with every draw; these are one example.
Guided problem in 4 steps: unknown, formula, units, data, result.
Both wires are in series with the load: drop ΔU = 2 × 0.5 × 10; U_R = 24 − ΔU = 14 V.
