Exercise from the chapter "Induction & self-induction"
Level 4 of 5 · Skills: Calculate
A fluxmeter probe is a small flat coil of 2 cm² and 30 turns, placed at the centre of a long coil with its axis parallel to the field lines. When the current of the long coil is cut in 5 ms, the probe shows an EMF of 0.12 V. What flux density existed at the probe?
Parametric exercise: the values change with every draw; these are one example.
E = N · B · S / Δt → B = E · Δt / (N · S) = 0.12 × 5·10⁻³ / (30 × 2·10⁻⁴) = 0.1 T.
